Here Kael'thas and the surviving Blood Elves struggle with their magic addiction in the wake of the Sunwell's destruction, a quest which eventually leads him to the naga and Illidan Stormrage. The Fall of Silvermoon is dramatized in the Blood Elf Heritage Armor quest line, added in Patch 8.1 Battle for Azeroth. The High Elves were decimated in The Fall of Silvermoon chapter of the 'Path of the Damned' campaign, which saw the destruction of Silvermoon, death of Ranger-General Sylvanas Windrunner and High King Anasterian Sunstrider, and the resurrection of Kel'Thuzad.
